From the upper deck of a double-decker I saw these two men sat chatting on St. Patrick’s Bridge in Cork city. I wonder what they were talking about? The man in the black hoodie on the left seems to be listening intently, his hands in a curious gesture, as if pushing something apart. The little cardboard coffee cup between them seems to be for passers-by to put money in, but it only seems a half-hearted attempt to gather, as if they are a little embarrassed by the asking.
All curiosity aside, I pray these men will, if they don’t now, then one day very soon have a place to call home.
